Another Worker Falls To Death At Foxconn Plant In China

MICgadget is reporting that another worker has fallen to his death from a dormitory block at the giant Foxconn factory complex at Shenzhen in China, where Apple iPhones and iPads are manufactured.

It follows major concerns over working conditions at the plant where there has been a spate of suicides.

MICgadget says the latest death is an 18 year old man who'd been working at the factory for less than a month.

Up to 500,000 people are employed at the Foxconn Shenzhen complex with the majority living on-site.

Earlier this year, an independent investigation criticised working conditions, detailing long hours, and public humiliation for failure.

Foxconn says it's changed things and introduced new measures, like counsellors and netting under dormitory blocks to prevent serious injuries from falls.
