SmartCover Security Flaw For iPad 2 on iOS5

A security flaw has been uncovered that lets people get into your password-protected iPad 2 simply by using a SmartCover.

Say you've left your email app open on your iPad 2 when it goes to sleep and locks. All anyone needs to do is hold the power button down until "Slide to power off" appears, close the SmartCover and open it, then hit cancel and your emails will be there for them to see.

The device will open to whatever app you were using - like your email app. The intruder can't actually operate the device and if you've locked it on the homescreen, they won't be able to get past the homescreen and open apps. But it's a security glitch that shouldn't be there.

Here's a video from 9to5mac:

Expect an iOS update from Apple to fix it pretty soon.
