Apple Takes 42.8% Share Of Smartphone Sales In UK

Apple accounted for a whopping 42.8% share of all smartphones sold in the UK in October, according to figures from analysts Kantar Worldpanel.

It puts Apple way head of Android at 35%. But it's all down to the release of the iPhone 4S.

Kantar says there was huge pent-up demand for the new device, which isn't bad going for a product that's only updated every 18 months or so.
Smartphone sales in the UK for the three months up to the end of October still put Android in the lead with 46% and Apple second with 27.8%. But again not bad going when you take into account there are dozens of Android smartphones on the market and only three iPhones - the 4S, 4 and 3GS.
