Bomb Victim Releases Disabled Access To London iPhone App

A man severely injured in the 7/7 terror bombing in London has released an iPhone app designed to help disabled people around the city.

Daniel Biddle lost both legs and an eye when a bomb exploded on a tube train in July 2005.

His app - Ldn Access - details places with easy access for disabled people and has a special section for the London Olympics 2012 venues.

Mr Biddle says he created the app after finding that his wheelchair had made many venues become inaccessible.
"What happened on 7/7 robbed me of the ability to just go anywhere," he said.
"I can think of numerous instances where I've stopped somewhere to use the toilet or gone to a restaurant only to find it is impossible. There is such a lack of useful information for people in a wheelchair, those with learning difficulties or people with a visual or hearing impairment."
Venues covered by the app include restaurants, hotels, theatres, cinemas and pubs. It can use your location and can also be used off-line.

Ldn Access costs £1.49 in the Apple App Store and Mr Biddle says money earned will be used to produce similar apps for Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone and expand into other cities.
