"Paper" iPad Sketchbook App Hits No.2 In Download Charts

It was only released two days ago, but already it's at No.2 in the iPad free apps chart. "Paper" is a very nicely-designed and fluid app that lets you make sketches and notes and it's creating something of an on-line buzz.

It's been developed by a company called FiftyThree formed by a group of designers who used to work for Microsoft in its tablet division.

Rather than me go into the ins and outs of the app, why not download it and give it a go. It's free in the Apple App Store. The catch is it only comes with one drawing implement, the fountain pen. If you want others, like felt-tip pen or watercolour brush, they'll cost you £1.49/$1.99 each....or £5.49/$7.99 for all four...as in-app purchases.

And it's optimised for the Retina display on the new iPad.
