Nokia Lumia touchscreen really does work with gloves on

It's a feature we hadn't really taken much notice of...until the snow started falling.

You really can operate the touchscreen on the Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 while you're wearing gloves. And we don't mean those gloves that claim to be useable, but any gloves.

Nokia is using technology called Super Sensitive Touch so fingers can stay toasty warm while you're answering a call, making a call, texting or playing Angry Polar Bears.

You can turn the super sensitivity off and on in Settings, but we've found leaving it on all the time works fine...the screen seems to know not to react to the side of your jeans' pocket as you slip it in and keeps its sensitivity to fingers covered in wool, leather or (we imagine) seaweed.

It's one of those features that leaves you wondering how you managed with it.
