Podcast Lounge app updated with promise of video

One of the most used apps on my Windows phone is Podcast Lounge. It used to be called BBC Podcast Lounge, but the Beeb got itself in a bit of a tiz so the BBC bit had to be dropped.

Strange when you remember that the BBC still refuses to produce official apps for Windows Phone because of what it calls technical reasons. Oh...except for a Top Gear app, which BBC Worldwide manages to produce with absolutely no technical problems at all.

Anyway....

Developer Igneous Software Ltd has come to our rescue and maintains several third-party apps including Podcast Lounge which is a great way of searching for, err, podcasts, streaming them or downloading them to listen to offline. It will even automatically download the latest editions of your favourite podcasts.

And...now here's the point of this rant....it's just been updated.
Version 1.5
Download library improvements
Added playback position memory
Activated brand new catalogue
New episode status line with more info
General reliability/performance fixes
Improved buffering notices
Orphaned download recovery
Added My Library RSS importer
The developer also promises that video podcast support will be added in a future update.

I can thoroughly recommend this app. It's rock solid, attractive and very easy to use.

Podcast Lounge costs £1.49 and if you're into podcasts, it's worth every penny. Get it here.
