Halifax and Bank of Scotland launch banking apps for Windows Phone

Two more UK banks have released Windows Phone apps - Halifax and Bank of Scotland. They both work on both WP7 and WP8 devices.

The Halifax chain is owned by Lloyds Bank which is a subsidiary of the Bank of Scotland group....so hopefully this will herald more WP banking apps from the group.

•Find Halifax branches, ATMs and LINK ATMs in the UK
•Sign in with your Online Banking details
•View balances and transactions
•Make transfers between your Halifax UK personal and savings accounts
•Securely set up and make payments

But these offerings from Halifax and Bank of Scotland are not on a par with the excellent NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland WP apps. They appear to only offer ATM location maps and links to the banks' mobile websites and can therefore be slow if you actually want to move your money around.

But better than nothing. Let's hope they're updated into fully-fledged apps.
