Windows Phone 8.1 update "will be released for all phones"

ComputerWorld is reporting that Microsoft has pledged Windows Phone 8.1 operating system update will be released for all existing WP8 devices.

It's been claimed that some lower-powered phones would miss out.
"We will not have the same experience as we had when Windows Phone 7 was upgraded to Windows Phone 8," Greg Sullivan, Windows Phone director of public relations at Microsoft, said in an interview at the International CES show.
The update - expected around April - is reported to bring a pull-down notification centre and a Siri-like voice assistant called Cortana.
