Microsoft has announced it's developing a separate Facebook Messenger app for Windows Phone 8.
Software boss, Joe Belfiore, broke the news to a media conference at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona.
At the moment, messaging is integrated into the Microsoft Facebook app. Producing it as a separate app will bring it into line with similar offerings on iOS and Android.
There's no timescale for release.
