At long last Apple has come out and confirmed the persistent rumours....it's coughed up $3bn for Beats audio, both the streaming music system and also the hardware headphone division.
It will see Beats founders, Jimmy Lovine and Dr Dre, joining Apple.
But it seams any apps on Android and Windows Phone won't be affected by the acquisition...in the sort term anyway:
