WhatsApp competitor Telegram Messenger has launched an official app for Windows Phone 8/8.1.
And it couldn't have timed it better: the official WhatsApp is still withdrawn from the Windows Phone Store because of bugs.
Telegram is, well, very very similar to WhatsApp - in fact sometimes it's easy to forget which app you're using.
It's in beta and is, in fact, a rebranded third-party Telegram app (it was called Ngram) that's now got the company's official approval. In effect, Telegram has cherry-picked from developers' efforts to produce third-party apps instead of developing its own.
