Microsoft Band coming to UK on April 15 for £169.99, up for preorder now

The Microsoft Band is to go on sale in the UK on April 15 for £169.99 and it's up for preorder now.

So far, Redmond's wearable tech device has only been available in the US where it's received almost universal praise.

The Band will go up against the about-to-be-released Apple Watch. But what makes the Band something special is it's cross-platform. It will work with Android and iOS smartphones as well as Windows phones.

Microsoft's offering is also more fitness orientated than Apple's.

The Band will measure steps, distance, calories and other health-related stuff as well as provide notifications for calls, texts and email. You can also reply using the Band.

Oh...and it tells the time too.

Microsoft says the Band will be stocked by Amazon, Currys, PC World, O2 and Harrods among others.

It's already being offered for preorder at the Microsoft Store online.
