iOS4.2.1 Is Released, But Can You Jailbreak?

So, at long last we have the iOS4.2.1 update from Apple for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches.

But if you're jailbroken, the message is stay away from the update.

At the moment there is a Redsn0w jailbreak that works on iOS4.2.1, but it will give you a tethered jailbreak.  That means you would have to run Redsn0w again every time you rebooted your iDevice, even turning it off and on again.

Also, the jailbreak app store, Cydia, is not yet iOS4.2.1-compatible.

It seems a new fully-functioning jailbreak will be released sooner rather than later. In the meantime, hold off from the iOS4.2.1 update if you want to keep your jailbreak and especially if you rely on network unlocking your device. And save those SHSH blobs.

Here's how to save your SHSH blobs from an earlier IJSM post.
